Digital innovation is a key driver for social impact. In Africa, Digital technologies are enabling locally-led solutions to address the region’s pressing challenges and reach under-served communities. As such, the digital sector is attracting growing interest and funding from impact investors (those seeking social impact alongside financial returns). It is therefore crucial for DIHs to have an understanding of impact investing and subsidised finance not only for them to be able to attract funding for their programmes but also to support their start ups to benefit from these opportunities.
AfriconEU, the first Trans-continental Networking Academy for African and European Digital Innovation Hubs in partnership with African Technology Business Network (ATBN) is hosting an online webinar on “Impact Investing and Subsidised Finance”
The webinar will cover the fundamentals of impact investing and subsidised finance and introduce participants to the key players and funders within the impact investment and finance landscape. There will also be a discussion about what impact funders are looking for and tips for successfully raising impact finance.
